The African Vision Foundation embarks on various outreach trips during the year. These trips entail visits to remote and off-the-beaten-track areas in Southern Africa. It requires transporting all of the educational material, balls, T-shirts, food and beverages over large distances due to the unavailability of these commodities in the remote areas. We make use of 4x4 vehicles to overcome the sometimes hostile terrain. Self-sufficiency is essential and camping is regarded as the norm. We strive towards supporting and developing community campsites, in order to stimulate the local economy. This is integral to our mission to generate opportunities. The group also compiles or expands on existing birding and environmental checklists during a visit, thereby strengthening the ecotourism baseline information of an area.
